Privacy

Short version: we ask for the minimum, we say exactly where it goes, and we only contact you about what you asked for.

Who we are

What we collect

The quote flow asks for your first name, your business name, your email address and the areas you want an address in, plus which features matter to you. A phone number is optional. We also record your answer to the free website offer and which boxes you ticked, with the exact wording you saw and the time, as the record of what you agreed to.

What we use it for

• Your matches. We produce your results and email them to you, because you asked us to.
• One reminder about the free website, only if you said yes to the offer or ticked the box saying Tom Riley can contact you. It is a single email, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe that also cancels it.
• A yearly email when your renewal is due, only if you ticked that box. We keep what we need to send it for 13 months.
• A call or a text about the free website, only if you gave a number and ticked the box saying Tom Riley can contact you by email, phone or text. Reply STOP to any text and you won't get another.

We won't add you to a mailing list, sell your details, pass them to a provider you did not choose, or remarket to you. You can withdraw consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email or by emailing hello@virtualofficecompare.co.uk.

Who handles it for us

Formspree receives your enquiry and passes it to our inbox (see their privacy policy). Resend sends our emails (see their privacy policy). Twilio sends our text messages (see their privacy policy). Cloudflare hosts this site and stores the small record behind each unsubscribe link and any renewal reminder you asked for. If you book a call with Tom Riley, the booking is made through Google Calendar under Google's own privacy policy.

How long we keep it

We delete enquiries once we no longer need them, and keep none for longer than two years. Renewal reminder details are kept for 13 months. If you unsubscribe, we keep a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address for three years so we never email you again by mistake.

The feature choices and ranking are also computed in your own browser, so your matches appear without a round trip to a server.

We currently run no analytics at all, and no advertising trackers. If we add page-view counting later it will be cookie-free and this page will say so first.

When you click through to a provider

You leave our site. The provider sets its own cookies and applies its own privacy policy, which you should read. If we ever have a commercial arrangement with a provider, a tracking parameter on the link would tell them the visit came from us. It would not carry anything about you.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, object to or restrict how we use it, withdraw consent at any time, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Contact hello@virtualofficecompare.co.uk.

Cookies

We set no advertising or profiling cookies. Anything stored is functional and stays in your browser.
