How we get paid
We're free to use. When you click through to a provider and take out a plan, some providers may pay us a fee. Any such fee never changes the price you pay and never changes where a provider appears in your results.
The detail
When you click a Go to provider button, you leave our site and go to the provider's own website. If you then buy something, some of those providers pay us a commission, usually between ten and twenty per cent of the first order, or a fixed fee. You pay exactly the same price either way.
Which providers pay us
At the time of writing, 0 of the 119 providers we compare pay us anything. 13 of them run affiliate programmes that we may apply to join. This page will list every provider that pays us, by name, from the day the first one does.
- None yet.
Providers that pay us nothing are ranked, recommended and written about on exactly the same basis. Several of the best value options on the site run no programme at all, which is precisely why the ranking cannot be for sale.
Featured partners
Providers that meet our listing criteria and have an affiliate or referral arrangement with us can pay for a featured placement. It appears as a labelled row above the ranked results on the location pages they serve, and their listing carries a Verified Partner badge. The ranked list underneath is produced exactly as it is for every other provider and is never changed by payment. The criteria are published prices or prices confirmed to us in writing, a real address at every location listed, a clear statement of which post is accepted, and identity checks in place.
Why we tell you this
Because the alternative is that you find out later. A comparison site's only real asset is whether you believe the order of the list. We would rather lose a click than the benefit of the doubt.
What we will never do
- Change the order of your results because of commission.
- Hide a provider because they do not pay us.
- Sell your details to anyone. We do not ask for your phone number and we do not generate leads.
- Show a paid placement without labelling it clearly on the row.
